Snuggle Buddy

I have been dog/house sitting for my aunt and uncle. It's weird to have a house all to myself, well except for my snuggle buddy Cassidy (or Peanut that's her nickname). The first few days I felt bad for her you could tell she knew her owners were gone and her eyes were always sad. But its been getting better. I never have to worry about being cold at night or alone she has to be touching you all night and sometimes she dreams that she is running (that's always fun).  She is a very good dog and a love bug at that, unless there is a rabbit or squirrel near by then she has to save you from the horror they could bring!! :)

In China news I now have my towels and a new pair of shoes since they don't carry my size over there and their towels aren't as good as ours. I also officially bought my ticket for China...its going to be a long flight (Like 30 some hours) I will be in an airport or on a plane for two days...not looking forward to that. I am hoping that I can get good sleep while flying so I am not a zombie by the time I reach China. We are arriving on their Monday morning and I am hoping not to scare everyone.

I am excited about everything except that VERY long flight and the fact that my Chinese is terrible...it might be a interesting 10 months of my life. I also found out that I will be sharing my apartment with he other Elementary teach Amber, I hope we get along I need to email her actually it might help the process of getting along better. Normally I don't have a problem I only every had one roommate in college that I really didn't get along with so it should be ok. I guess for now this is it my next adventure on my way to China is my trip to Chicago next month to get my visa. I will tell you all about it right after it actually happens. In the mean time Adios amigos and amigas (if only I could just speak Spanish in China instead of Chinese).

Preparation and Random Thoughts

Well life is rolling by wayyyyy to fast! We started making list of everything I need to pack for China that I absolutely cannot find there. My mom is freaking out about the weight limit and everything I have to take with me...I on the other hand am not freaking out (which is making her freak out worse because I'm too calm) I have learned in my life to go with the flow as much as possible...not that it always is.

Also I have been trying to reach my goal of reading 60 books this year before I leave for China since I have no idea how much free time (if any) that I will have. On one side people who are already there tell me that I will have some while my mom thinks that my life will be crammed. I however have no idea so I have read 40 books so far and have 20 to go to reach my goal. If only I have a library like belle in beauty and the beast, you can keep the hot prince just give me the books! I know that probably sounds odd to most people but men are so disappointing and books rarely are...but relationships is a topic for another day.

My posts might be far and between for a while (sorry) but I find that my summer is going by way too fast and it is suddenly filled with me racing to China...not that that was my plan. This is not to mention that I still haven't finished my first book, I finally have all the missing pieces and every time I get in the mood to really sit down and type my heart out my mom begins to freak out about something China related and that immediately takes precedence over my writing...it's ok I understand that most people don't understand my need to creativity with words-- but I wish they did.

In fact I have some time now to type my heart away so I will cut this post short  Adios 朋友 (friends)! (I know its Spanish and Chinese. I am a walking contradiction.)

Soggy like a wet dog

Well last night I went to a Loons game (baseball) with my mom and some friends. We were having a pretty good time until the rain hit. It wasn't a hard rain were everyone scatters like ants but more of a mist/spitting rain that slowly eats away at your reserve.

I made it till the middle of the 6th inning and I had to run for cover. By that point I was pretty soggy even though I had a blanket to cover most of me. The blanket was wet my hoodie was soaked and my clothes underneath were pretty wet as well. We left early fight the high wind and rain.

It was not the idea baseball game, I came home with a sore throat and missed chrch today to sleep and overcome any type of sickness trying to weasel its way into my system. I did how ever get really close to both our mascots last night that was a first.

Lou e. Loon and Rall e. Camel at the fire pit

I was glad to come home to flannel pj's last night  in an attempt to try and warm up. We listened to the game on the way home and we lost 5-4, with the rain though it was hard for the players to find footing (we had a collision last night of the 3rd baseman and the catcher, not pretty) and the ball was always wet so pitching from the mound or out field was terrible. The 6th inning alone took forever. I lost count of pitched in the top of the 6th and just felt bad for the Loons.

The rain quit after we left (of course it did) and we missed the fireworks, but to be honest I didn't mind seeing as to the fact I was drenched in rain and starting to get a very sore throat. I still have quite a few game to see and maybe we will win one of them (I have only seen losing games this season) honestly I skipped the game today and they probably win.  Well until next time my faithful readers I say 再见 zài jiàn (see again)
